Meet the Kama‘aina K9 Team

At Kama‘aina K9 Adventures, our team is made up of dedicated, experienced dog lovers who treat every pup like family. Here are a few of the friendly faces you’ll see around the park.

Maile

Maile Fong

Maile founded Kamaʻaina K9 Adventures in 2015, turning her lifelong love of dogs into a premier destination for Oʻahu’s dog-loving community. After a successful career in Wealth Management at First Hawaiian Bank and finance roles in San Francisco, she followed her passion to create a business dedicated to exceptional care and enrichment for dogs.

A graduate of UC Santa Barbara, Maile also co-founded Tiare O Te Ao, a Polynesian dance school in California. When she’s not at Kamaʻaina K9 Adventures, Maile shares her life with her five beloved dogs—four Mastiffs, Peppa, Chunk, Fiona, and Summer, along with Jerry, her English Bulldog. As a devoted dog owner herself, she understands the trust families place in those caring for their pets and brings that same compassion, dedication, and “dog sense” to every aspect of the business.

Remy Maloata

– What attracted you to work with dogs?

Always had a love for dogs. I’m too sensitive for the harsh reality of shelters and vet clinics, so running, sniffing, splashing and exploring is more my speed!

– What is your favorite part about this job?

Watching dogs grow and bloom whether it’s in age or social skills.

– What breed of dog is your favorite?

I’ll always have a soft spot for Chihuahuas

Stephen

Stephen O’Brien

Stephen joined Kama‘aina K9 when the doors first opened in 2015 and has been a core part of the team ever since. He’s a Certified Veterinary Technician and is dog CPR certified. A military veteran, Stephen brings focus and dedication to every shift. While working at KK9, he adopted a Chihuahua, and when he’s not at the park, you can find him training or competing in Jiu Jitsu.
