About Kama‘aina K9 Adventures
Kamaʻaina K9 Adventures is locally owned and operated by Maile and Kelly Fong. With over a decade of experience raising and showing AKC champion English Mastiffs and Bulldogs, Maile and Kelly understand the importance of socialization, exercise, and thoughtful training in raising happy, well-balanced dogs — and families.
The idea for Kamaʻaina K9 Adventures began in 2014, when they started developing their family farm in the Kunia countryside. What began as a space for growing fruit trees, raising miniature livestock, and tending flowers quickly became something more. Their dogs — four mastiffs and two bulldogs — loved having room to roam, play, and just be dogs. Friends visiting the farm saw the same joy in their own dogs, and weekends soon turned into informal dog parties under the trees.
But Maile and Kelly also saw a gap. On Oʻahu, it was hard to find a dog daycare that offered large, open spaces for bigger or more energetic dogs. Many dog owners struggled to find safe, clean places where their dogs could run, play with others, and burn off energy in a healthy way — especially for breeds like mastiffs, who need room and thoughtful handling.
So they decided to create something new: a dog daycare built like a dog park — but better.
They designed their property so dogs could explore freely while staying safe and secure, even around the farm’s goats and horses. They divided the land into multiple themed zones, each offering something different — from splash pools and agility areas to forested trails and shady jungle nooks.
One year later, Kamaʻaina K9 Adventures officially opened as Hawaii’s first outdoor doggie theme park — a place where dogs of all sizes can play, thrive, and be part of a community that treats them like family.
